This is a 100% natural product, developed to facilitate its incorporation into any formulation of gum base, providing chewing gum with excellent properties of mastication. Its main ingredient is chicle gum (Manilkara Zapota), which, because of its physical and chemical properties, is a seamless substitute for synthetic elastomers, polymers and resins, eliminating any health risk to the end consumer.
MANILKARA ZAPOTA
Because of its latex composition, this Zapotaceae species is regarded as the best for
making chicle gum. It is native to the Petén Jungle (in Mexico, Belize and Guatemala),
where it grows and develops by natural selection. The latest forestry study reported a population of close to 60 million trees, reflecting an adequate forest usage plan.
The traditional—rudimentary, laborious and disorderly—process for obtaining chicle gum has been used for years, where the quality control of the product has been governed by comparative and obsolete patterns, resulting in a contaminated, heterogeneous and unstable product.
